MAKING TRACKS ULTIMATE ROAD TRIPS
Scotland's West Coast

Welcome to our 2024 Scotland trip - an exciting drive up the west coast of Scotland taking in all the classic roads plus some 'off-the-beaten track' highlights!
The trip includes four nights of hotel accommodation, and four days of driving along the best roads and scenery that the west of Scotland has to offer. The trip starts in Tarbet on the shore of Loch Lomond, and finishes in Ullapool. If you're not in a hurry to get home, you can join us in the Cairngorms on the journey home!
Day To Day Breakdown
The day before..
If you need to stay the night in Tarbet on the 20th, we can arrange for you to stay the evening in the same hotel as us.
Day 1
Our first day will see us travelling North over some classic routes - Rannoch Moor, Glencoe and many others.
Day 2
We'll be heading along the 'Road To The Isles' in the morning, visiting Glenfinnan enroute. We'll take the ferry to Skye from Mallaig, and tour the island in the afternoon.
Day 3
Today after a visit to a local famous castle we'll take on the epic Applecross pass. We'll take in the sights along the lochs to the north towards Torridon with some wonderful driving to our destination for the day, Gairloch.
Day 4
We'll head for the Assynt, an astoundingly beautiful area. We'll visit lighthouses, remote villages and castle ruins while we tackle the wonderful roads in this area. We'll spend the night in Ullapool with a farewell meal.
The Day After
After breakfast we'll say our farewells today and head back home. If you're not in a rush then you could join us through the Cairngorms as we head south.
