Join us on this exciting drive through some of Europe's most spectacular scenery!
Sunday 26th May - Sunday 9th June 2024 (15 days, 14 nights)

From high mountain passes and twisty roads to jagged peaks and pristine lakes, this region has it all. This exciting tour will zigzag you countless times across the border between France and Spain, taking in the most iconic of the Pyrenees' mountain roads and visiting some of the most picturesque towns and villages in Europe.

With several two-night stays in hotels there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy some circular routes of the areas we are staying in. You'll be able to get a real feel for this beautiful region.

We will break up the journeys through France with stops at Le Mans 24hr circuit, the Bordeaux 'wine region' and the Millau Viaduct. Lots of variety here, and a full day to relax on the Northern Coast of Spain too!

So if you love a tour with variety and the perfect balance of driving, exploring and relaxing, this is definitely a tour for you! Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Day 1 - U.K. to Le Mans

274 miles - approx. 3.5hrs driving time

We’ll take our Eurotunnel crossing in the morning and head south on the French Autoroutes to Le Mans, our first stop-over on our trip.
We will meet you at our hotel, and a group meal will be organised for those who would like to partake - an excellent opportunity to meet and get to know your fellow travellers.

Day 2 - Le Mans 24hr

283 miles - approx. 4hrs driving time

Our road trip starts in earnest with a trip to the Le Mans 24hr racetrack, 90% of which is on public roads. Take a few laps on this legendary route, with racing-track road markings and fixtures.
We will follow this up with a trip to the Le Mans 24hr museum, which is stacked full of cars from the history of the race.
After lunch here, we will take the fast Autoroutes to our next hotel in the Bordeaux wine region.

Day 3 - St Emillion

183 miles - approx. 3hrs driving time

In the morning we will visit the beautiful wine town of St. Emillion, set in the stunning countryside of the Dordogne. This is a beautiful small town with sweeping views across the surrounding vineyards.
After lunch we spend our last afternoon (for a while) on the French autoroutes, getting over the Spanish border to our hotel in the wonderful Spanish seaside town of Donostia-San Sebastian.

Day 4 - Donostia-San Sebastian

Our two night stay here will be in a fantastic hotel with bay views. You can explore the old town, relax on the beach, pamper yourself at the hotel spa and swimming pool or do a short scenic drive along the north coast of Spain.

Day 5 - Into The Pyrenees!

Today the adventure starts in earnest, with a fabulous cross-country drive through the foothills of the western Pyrenees. En route we will cross the French border twice and drive two great passes - Col de la Pierre St Martin and Col du Somport.

Day 6 - Big Mountain Passes

Lots of brilliant driving today, with four of most spectacular passes in The Pyrenees - Col du Pourtalet, Col d’Aubisque, Col du Soulor and Col du Tourmalet.
Our hotel for the evening will be just below the peak of the mighty Col du Tourmalet.

Day 7 - Day Off Exploring In The Pyrenees

Today is a day with less driving but the option of plenty of excursions. Whether you take the cable car up to the local peak, visit the beautiful village and falls of Gavarnie or enjoy hiking in the local area, there is plenty to do!

Day 8 - Lakes, Mountains and Dams!

72 miles - approx. 2.5hrs driving time

Today we’re heading over the Col D’Aspin with a lunch break in Arreau. This is a pretty little town in a scenic surrounding.
In the afternoon we will head up the Col Cap Du Long, a fantastic driving road with the longest dam in the Pyrenees at the top, with some absolutely epic views!

Day 9 - Ainsa, Benasque and the N260

140 miles - approx. 3hrs driving time

We’ve been on and off the famous N260 for a lot of the trip, but today we undertake a particularly scenic section, as we head through canyons, mountain valleys and passes.

Our first stop today is the town of Ainsa, with an old fortress sitting atop of the old town. Then we’ll head along the N260 for Benasque, a town set in the mountains for a look around (and some lunch) before we carry on to our hotel for the night.

Day 10 - Andorra La Vella

76 miles - approx. 2hrs driving time

After a couple of hours drive into Andorra we will head straight to the capital - Andorra La Vella - for a look around the old town, before heading over one of Andorra’s most scenic roads to our hotel.

Day 11 - Andorra

Lots of excursions are possible in Andorra today - from scenic drives to cable cars and ski resort towns, there is so much to do. 

If you enjoy hiking, this is a great place to get those walking boots on!

Day 12 - Carcassonne

123 miles - approx. 4hrs driving time

Today we're leaving Andorra, heading north for Carcassonne - but taking a scenic drive through the Gorges de Galamus enroute.

The hotel for the night is at Carcassonne, and provides access to a pool and spa.

Day 13 - Millau Viaduct

379 miles - approx. 5hrs driving time

We’ll head straight of the Millau Viaduct this morning, take in some scenic viewpoints of this iconic bridge and visit the museum and visitor’s centre. We'll have lunch and then head further north, making good use of the excellent french autoroutes to reach our penultimate hotel.

Day 14 - Homeward Bound

230 miles - approx. 3.5hrs driving time

Today we will head for our last hotel of the trip, near Rouen. There should be time to visit the city in the afternoon, before our final group meal - a chance for us all to exchange stories of the trip.

Day 15 - Homeward Bound

Today we enjoy our last breakfast on the tour and make our way back to our channel crossing.
