An exciting and varied visit to one of Austria's most spectacular regions!

Salzburgerland is the name often given to the stunning region surrounding Salzburg in Austria. This is a dramatic mountainous region with beautiful lakes and wonderful vistas.
We’ll spend four nights in this wonderful region, exploring well-known landmarks such as Berchtesgaden, Zell Am See, Mondsee and many more, while also getting off the beaten track to discover lesser known gems.

Day To Day Breakdown

Day 1 - U.K. to Koln

Today you will take your channel crossing (the night before if taking an overnight crossing), and we will meet and greet you at our first hotel in the city of Koln.

You can either enjoy the facilities at the hotel or head into the city to check out the sights and enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants.

Day 2 - Klassikstadt and Nuremburg

Our first day driving will take us along the fast autobahn network, stopping for lunch and a peruse at a superb niche cars museum, complete with glass workshops, boutique shops and a lovely restaurant.

We'll finish the day at a superb hotel near to Nuremburg.

Day 3 - Audi Museum and on to Salzburg

Today we’ll stop at the famous Audi Museum at Ingolstadt for viewing and a wonderful lunch. Whether or not Audi is your marque, the restaurant is excellent!!
After, we’ll be heading for our final destination and hotel for four nights in the wonderful Salzburgerland region.

Day 4/5/6 - Time in Salzburgerland

Zell Am See

Miles vary daily

We'll spend three days exploring the area by way of circular driving routes, with the luxury of returning to the same hotel every night.

Destinations will include the Salzburg lakes, Berchtesgaden, Rossfeld Scenic Road, Zell Am See and a trip to Salzburg is possible if you would like.

Day 7 - Grossglockner

We'll leave our Austrian hotel today, heading south first to The Katchsberg Pass and Gmund, a lovely town to stroll around and also home to Europe's only private Porsche museum. This is the town where the first 356 was built.

After, we'll be heading over the famous Grossglockner pass and heading to our last Austrian hotel of the tour.

Day 8 - Bavarian Roads to Ulm

Augsburg

200 miles

A blast across Bavaria today. Excursions can include the town of Augsburg and the BMW museum before heading for our hotel near Ulm.

Day 9 - Back to Koln

Our last day will take us up the 'Rhine Romanticism Route', stretching from Wiesbaden to Koln and lined with numerous historical and scenic highlights.

Day 10 - Homeward Bound

Today we enjoy our last breakfast on the tour and make our way back to our early evening channel crossings.
